Integration of urban nodes in the TEN-T corridors
Integration of urban nodes in the TEN-T corridors
The study on improving the efficiency of the transport system in urban nodes of the trans-European transport core network contributed strongly to further develop the urban dimension of the TEN-T. The on-line course, which is available to all interested European urban nodes, contains facts, findings, recommendation and, above all, inspiration which could help them become more aware of the opportunities arising by being part of the TEN-T core network.

The European policy framework aimed at steering the improvement of transport efficiency is comprised of two different approaches. Discover what they are about in this lesson.
-
The requirement of both TEN-T Regulations and Urban Mobility Package is that urban nodes should fulfil their function in the TEN-T network (connection between transport arteries, connection of modes, connection of the different transport layers) but they should also provide a high-quality of life in the urban environment.
-
is your city one of the 88 urban nodes of the TEN-T core network?

-
For the identification of cost-effective measures and evaluation of their impact on the efficiency of the transport system in urban nodes, an urban node needs a useful instrument that can assist in the decision-making process..
-
The stakeholders and decision makers must all be involved in the processes of planning, evaluating and selecting the most cost-efficient transport measures or packages of measures. This lesson explains the value that each of the essential groups adds to a good selection of measures.
-
What measures in your urban node would you select as relevant for both the TEN-T and the urban mobility context?
