1. About Ljubljana

Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and a significant link of the four cohesion areas of the European Union. Its position at the intersection of the 5th and 10th European transport corridors, its railway node, the vicinity of the port of Koper and the Joze Pucnik international airport provide the Ljubljana urban region with the condition to become a hub of a metropolitan European growth area.

The entire transport network of Slovenia, including two sections towards Croatia, is also part of the integral TEN-T network, and also a major part of the core TEN-T network. Two core network corridors, the Mediterranean and Baltic-Adriatic, run across Slovenia and Ljubljana.
