Survey types

This section looks at the different types of surveys available, when they are useful and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

1. Survey types

Several different types of surveys are used in marketing research in public transport. These include:

  1. person-administered surveys
  2. computer-administered surveys
  3. self-administered surveys

Each of these will be addressed in the following pages including the type of collection method, a description of it and its usefulness for public transport.
