Local context and its restrictions
Understanding the local context and its restrictions is key to designing a successful and appropriately-scaled charging infrastructure.
1. Adapt your measures to your own city
In order to design successful and appropriately-scaled charging infrastructure, it is crucial to analyse the local context in terms of its possibilities and, more important, its restrictions.
For example, a city with plenty of one-family houses and private parking spots has a lower demand for public charging infrastructure. Despite that, cities with a low number of private parking spots but many EVs would need a wide-spread public charging infrastructure.
Charging infrastructure needs would be vastly different in a sprawling suburban town versus a densely populated urban area.
